Job description

Introduction to Fuse:

Fuse builds innovative communications, networking, and computing solutions that improve the sharing of information, video, text, and voice among operators distributed throughout the airborne, maritime, and ground environments. We are a technology firm creating in-house software, network and hardware solutions that support our noble cause of advancing warfighter capabilities with elegant, user-focused communications, networks, and software systems.

About this role:

Must be a nimble self-starter who is excited about technology and can think out of the box and suggest powerful new ideas. Fuse values a creative and dynamic work environment - if this sounds good to you, then we are looking forward to hearing from you!

What you'll do:
  • Assemble cable harnesses and interconnects from drawings, work instructions, and BOMs - cut, strip, crimp, solder, terminate, lace, heat-shrink, and dress to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and company process.
  • Build and rework complex circuit card assemblies (CCA/PCBA) including through-hole and SMT soldering, component installation, conformal coating touch-up, and board-level rework.
  • Assemble and integrate electro-mechanical units: chassis, LRUs, backshells, connectors (including D38999 / Glenair-style circulars and Micro-D), panels, and ruggedized enclosures.
  • Read and follow schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and travelers; kit parts and maintain configuration control.
  • Perform continuity, and basic functional verification with multimeters and production test equipment.
  • Document as-built work, nonconformances, and first-article notes; support MRB and engineering change incorporation.
  • Work with production, quality, and engineering to resolve build issues and improve process, yield, and work instructions.
  • Maintain ESD, FOD, and tool-control in a mixed prototype-to-production environment.
  • Mentor and support junior technicians on shift.
  • Identify and help remove blockers so work does not stall.
We are looking for:
  • Hands-on experience assembling cable harnesses and/or circuit card assemblies in a defense, aerospace, or other regulated electronics environment.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, harness drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, crimp tools, soldering irons, heat guns, torque tools, and basic electrical test equipment (DMM, continuity testers).
  • Strong attention to detail, quality mindset, and comfort working to written process and inspection criteria.
  • Ability to work independently as a nimble self-starter and as part of a small production team.
  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
Nice to have:
  • 5-7 Years experience.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, and/or J-STD-001 certification (or willingness to certify)
  • Experience with connectors, coax, and shielded/multi-conductor harnesses.
  • CCA build/rework experience including SMT, through-hole, and conformal coating
  • Electro-mechanical box-build / LRU integration experience
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ESD control, FOD prevention, and traveler/MES documentation
  • Experience supporting prototype / NPI builds as well as production-rate work
  • Military or veteran manufacturing / avionics background
