Job summary

Collaborative Robotics in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to design and launch our in-house production system for robots. You will own the line from concept to stable operation, architecting processes, fixtures, and controls while partnering with hardware teams to optimize design and assembly.

You will establish a metrics-driven production environment, run time studies, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced startup setting.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in manufacturing/process/production engineering for electromechanical hardware.
• Experience standing up a new production line or NPI at low-to-mid volume.
• Demonstrated fixture/jig design judgment and hardware design influence.
• Fluency with DFM/DFA and data-driven decision making.
• Experience analyzing production line metrics and process data.
• Excellent oral and written communication; collaborative in startup settings.
• Willing to travel as needed; US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end build sequence and work instructions for the production line.
• Define fixture design philosophy and align with hardware design.
• Bridge build floor and hardware design; drive decisions to closure.
• Run process FMEA on new/changed steps to preempt failures.
• Build root-cause/defect-closure system and instrument issue tracking.
• Define metrics, run time studies, identify bottlenecks, collect cycle time data.
