Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Production Planner to oversee master schedules, release work orders in SAP, and coordinate with operations to keep production on track.

The role requires strong ERP/MRP knowledge, 5+ years in manufacturing planning, and the ability to react quickly to shop-floor changes while maintaining data integrity.

This onsite position is based in Somerset, NJ, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Planning, Scheduling, or Production Control.
• Degree in Manufacturing, Operations, or related field.
• Experience building and adjusting production schedules and owning work order execution.
• Strong understanding of MRP outputs as execution signals.
• Hands-on ERP experience, SAP strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Own daily work order management in SAP, including release and closure.
• Execute and adjust short-term production schedules based on real-time shop floor conditions.
• Monitor open, in-process, and late work orders and drive timely completion.
• Re-prioritize and reschedule work orders to address shortages and capacity constraints.
• Ensure accurate SAP data, including status, lead times, priorities, and completions.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing to align job priorities and resolve execution issues.
• Act on MRP exception messages to maintain flow and prevent delays.
• Support implementation of ECNs and MRB dispositions within active work orders.
• Communicate clear status updates and risks impacting work order completion.
