Job summary

BlueScope is seeking a Production Planner in Tacoma, WA, to create production schedules aligned with site capacity and customer delivery dates. The role requires coordinating with manufacturing, planning, supply chain, and customer service to ensure on-time order fulfillment.

You will develop scheduling processes, forecast schedules, and monitor daily/weekly throughput while maintaining accurate records. A Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years’ experience is required, with SAP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years relevant experience in production planning in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience communicating across departments and taking initiative to production challenges.
• Experience with ERP system (SAP strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate production planning to meet site capacity, including modifying production scheduling and issuing run lists and amendments.
• Communicate between manufacturing, planning, supply chain and customer service to maintain backlog and material flow.
• Develop a Production Scheduling process to optimize machine capacity and timely production for all customer orders.
• Forecast future production schedules to optimize efficiency and adjust to changes like backlogs or unplanned events.
• Schedule DARs (Delivery Assistance Requests) to support order fulfilments and maintain DAR log.
