Job summary

Portsmouth Naval Shipyard seeks a Supervisory General Engineer in the Production Engineering & Facilities Division to oversee facilities and plant equipment supporting Naval Nuclear work. You will lead the division, drive programs, and ensure safe, economical, and timely work completion.

The role requires managing budgets, certifications, and design approvals for dry docks and utility systems, with emphasis on safety and mission readiness. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites may be needed.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering principles and practices.
• Experience developing inspection requirements and standard operating procedures.
• Experience resolving technical and design problems in engineering contexts.
• Experience managing industrial ship repair and associated budgets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee selection and execution of programs to meet production needs safely and efficiently.
• Lead Production Engineering Manager responsibilities for facilities and plant equipment supporting Naval Nuclear work.
• Administer certification programs for shipyard facilities and equipment.
• Approve design engineering for dry docks, waterfront facilities, and related systems.
