Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Production Engineer to bridge engineering and production, transitioning components and testing from concept to manufacturing. You will develop, evaluate, and improve processes while considering cost, materials, efficiency, and design constraints.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
4–6 years’ work experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.
Experience with shop equipment (CNC machines, tooling, hand tools).
Knowledge of wire harness manufacturing (soldering, terminating, tooling).
Knowledge of composite structures and processes (finishing, trimming, tooling).
Experience with Kaizen, A3 problem solving, and Poka Yoke for process improvement.
Understanding of ERP systems and implementation challenges.
Strong people and communication skills; leadership ability.
Ability to read technical drawings and work from specifications.

Responsibilities

Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
Lead continuous improvement via Kaizen with engineering to reduce costs and labor.
Provide mentorship to technicians and engineering staff.
Develop, implement, and promote safety procedures and best practices.
Prepare and present technical updates and process improvement recommendations.
Evaluate and qualify vendors, materials, and components.
Support CAM programming, tooling development, and manufacturing equipment operation.
Create and revise travelers, work instructions, and test procedures.
Collaborate with engineering and production to troubleshoot issues.
