Job summary

Marotta Controls in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a Sr. Production Engineer focused on continuous improvement to lead the technical management and enhancement of production lines for Aerospace & Defense systems.

You will develop and maintain manufacturing methods, document work instructions, lead lean initiatives, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to improve yield, safety, and efficiency while supporting on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of production, manufacturing, or process engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience with the assembly, design, and implementation of precision devices.
• Experience with electronics, test equipment, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of machining techniques, manufacturing documentation, routers, tooling sheets, and operational work instructions.
• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methods.
• Strong verbal and written communication across all levels and with external partners.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and manufacturing or business systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve systems and processes for new product introductions and existing lines.
• Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods, sequences, test equipment, fixtures, and processes.
• Create and refine operation sheets, routers, set-up sheets, tooling sheets, and work instructions.
• Investigate and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Participate in root cause investigations, defect reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and yield and reduce defects.
• Design assembly procedures, tooling, and test fixtures for safe operations.
• Analyze layout, workflow, and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency.
