Job summary

The Walt Disney Company Bristol, CT is seeking a Sr Product Software Engineer to help build a high‑throughput advertising platform. You will design, implement, and test microservices, while improving observability and metrics across the stack.

You will collaborate across teams, mentor peers, and own domain areas while leveraging Java/Spring Boot, ReactJS, AWS, and modern DevOps tools. Bristol-based, hybrid in‑office schedule applies.

Qualifications

• 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot and ORMs.
• Experience with ReactJS or similar frontend frameworks.
• Relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres.
• NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and Redis.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Modern DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Data streaming mechanisms such as Kafka, Kinesis, and/or SNS/SQS.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code and/or Github Copilot with Python.
• Develop, refine, and evaluate prompts and workflows for LLM-based APIs.
• Build and support agentic workflows with multi-step, tool-using agents.
• Domain knowledge in the Ad Tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test solutions in a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environment.
• Enhance observability with metrics, monitors, and alerts.
• Translate user stories into actionable tasks.
• Own one or more team domain areas.
• Utilize automated AI tools per policy.
• Participate in On-Call rotations per policy.
