Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Product Cybersecurity Engineer within the Secure Product Engineering pillar. This senior IC leads hands-on initiatives to ensure software and systems are securely implemented as GM products move through development.

You will build secure engineering services, mentor engineers, partner with product teams, and drive secure SDLC practices across embedded vehicle software and mobile experiences.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of cybersecurity experience in application or product security
• Experience guiding engineers and setting technical direction
• Expertise in secure software engineering and practical guidance
• Experience with SAST, DAST, fuzzing, and secure SDLC workflows
• Ability to read and write software in multiple languages

Responsibilities

• Serve as a hands-on technical leader across secure software and systems engineering
• Personally design, build, and mature a robust set of secure engineering services and capabilities for GM products
• Establish embedded partnerships with product engineering teams to support secure implementation
• Implement and mature SAST, DAST, fuzzing, runtime security, and OS security hardening of core code bases
• Author technical guidance, reusable patterns, and guardrails across product environments
• Perform in-depth secure code review and improve tooling to carry security requirements into engineering
• Mentor and uplift engineers across the pillar with high technical standards
