Cohere Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to join our security-focused engineering team. You will review architecture and code, model threats, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to harden AI-powered products.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, creating practical mitigations, and building scalable guardrails. You will work across a range of modern cloud-native tech and contribute to secure-by-default offerings.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to test fixes in production codebases.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Led security reviews or threat models for complex systems with measurable improvements.
• understanding of vulnerability classes including injection, authorization flaws, IDOR, SSRF.
• Solid grasp of modern app architectures: web apps, APIs, OAuth/OIDC, cloud, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead security reviews of architecture, code, and security-sensitive changes.
• Secure AI-powered products by evaluating risks like prompt injection and data exposure.
• Threat model new capabilities and translate findings into mitigations.
• Perform hands-on testing, develop proofs of concept, assess exploitability.
• Build scalable guardrails: secure defaults, reusable controls, and automated checks.
• Strengthen engineering capability by documenting guidance and sharing security knowledge.
• Influence risk decisions by explaining findings to engineers and leaders.
