Job summary

Garmin Ltd. is seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer - Safety for a full-time role, based in Cary, NC, with responsibilities to ensure Garmin products meet applicable safety standards and country certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience performing or supporting compliance testing and product safety certifications.
• Ability to explain and document regulatory and standards requirements clearly.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop regulatory, certification and market access requirements for Garmin products.
• Create compliance plans aligned with development schedules and global markets.
• Participate in design reviews and lead safety design reviews as the compliance representative.
• Coordinate pre-compliance testing to identify safety issues before formal certification.
• Work with third-party labs to execute Garmin’s compliance strategies.
• Troubleshoot failures and drive corrective actions with design teams.
• Review test reports and conformity documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate complex regulatory topics to engineering teams and leadership.
• Serve as SME for product safety compliance requirements.
• Support leadership to improve and maintain compliance processes and guidelines.
