Job summary

Thorough-Staff LLC seeks an experienced Quality Inspector to systematically inspect, evaluate, and analyze production and customer-returned products. You will identify failure modes, support root cause analysis, and drive data-driven improvements across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.

Key qualifications include 5+ years in quality or manufacturing inspection, familiarity with GD&T, CMM, and precision measurement tools, plus ISO 9001/13485 knowledge.

Qualifications

• Education aligns with quality-focused manufacturing engineering.
• Experience interpreting GD&T, BOMs, electrical schematics, and workmanship standards.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, 13485 or equivalent quality standards.
• Proven ability to perform precision measurements and coordinate measurements.

Responsibilities

• Interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, BOMs, electrical schematics, material specs, workmanship standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on production and customer returns to assess defects.
• Operate calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools for accurate measurements.
• Utilize CMM operation and understand how probing strategy affects measurement accuracy.
• Identify recurring issues and escalate to Product Quality Manager.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Procurement to communicate findings and support corrective actions.
• Assist Technical Returns Evaluation Manager with repair procedures and work instructions.
• Participate in Lean or continuous improvement initiatives to reduce turnaround time and defects.
• Perform Internal Quality Systems Audits and ensure procedural compliance.
