Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Product Owner II for the Institutional Services division to own the product vision and roadmap, representing the voice of the customer and stakeholders to ensure value. This role prioritizes the backlog, collaborates with agile teams, and works with senior leadership on strategic opportunities.

The incumbent will collaborate across teams, focus on outcomes, and ensure alignment with risk and regulatory standards while contributing to a global, client-centric operating model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience.
• Understanding of Design Thinking principles.
• Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices.
• Experience working in partnership with user experience teams on product design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and own product vision and roadmap aligned to strategy.
• Represent customer voice and convey stories to the team; make autonomous decisions to move delivery forward.
• Write user stories and groom backlog; specify acceptance criteria for ATDD.
• Collaborate with delivery team to create information radiators showing progress.
• Participate in all team ceremonies and agile activities.
• Influence across organization to advocate for customer benefit.
• Understand and engage with customers to focus on outcomes over outputs.
• Coordinate with other Product Owners to align journeys and backlogs.
• May act for Senior Product Owner as needed.
• Adhere to risk, regulatory, and internal controls; escalate issues as needed.
