Job summary

Clera is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the core fintech platform delivering customer-facing AI features, onboarding, and workflow tooling. You will shape the product strategy and drive end-to-end experiences that help small businesses manage finances more efficiently.

You will partner with Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Compliance, and GTM teams to test, learn, and scale solutions across onboarding, activation, and retention while balancing privacy and risk considerations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a product manager in fintech or related domain.
• Hands-on with SMB onboarding, workflow tools, integrations, or AI products.
• Proven ability with experimentation, A/B testing, and data-driven decisions.
• Experience with AI-driven product surfaces and LLMs tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap for customer-facing AI features using LLMs and automation.
• Improve the new-customer onboarding and activation journey.
• Build and enhance invoicing, automation, reminders, reconciliation, and other workflows.
• Lead partner integrations and APIs to connect accounting, payments, payroll, and software.
• Run onboarding, adoption, and retention experiments and derive scalable improvements.

About the Role

This Senior Product Manager role sits at the heart of a fintech platform built for small and independent businesses, owning a high-impact area that spans onboarding and activation, workflow tooling, partner integrations, and customer-facing AI experiences. The work directly shapes how small business owners manage their finances day to day, making complex financial tasks easier, faster, and more intuitive.

What You'll Do

• Own the roadmap for customer-facing AI features, applying LLMs, agentic workflows, and automation to real small-business financial problems with a thoughtful eye on accuracy, privacy, and risk.

• Improve the new-customer journey from signup through activation, helping users reach value quickly and deepen engagement over time.

• Build and enhance business workflow tools such as invoicing, automation, reminders, reconciliation, and other day-to-day financial operations.

• Lead the strategy for partner integrations and APIs, connecting accounting, payments, payroll, and business software into useful, end-to-end workflows.

• Run experiments across onboarding, adoption, and retention, defining success metrics and turning successful tests into scalable product improvements.

• Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Compliance, and go-to-market teams to bring products to market.

What We're Looking For

• Meaningful experience as a product manager, ideally in fintech or a closely adjacent domain.

• Hands-on background in at least one core area: SMB onboarding and activation, workflow tooling, integrations and APIs, or customer-facing AI products.

• Demonstrated fluency with experimentation, A/B testing, and data-driven decision-making.

• Comfort working with LLMs and AI-driven product surfaces, with an understanding of the tradeoffs involved.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience aligning engineering, design, compliance, and go-to-market stakeholders.

• A track record of shipping products that drive measurable growth, retention, or monetization outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $160,000 to $200,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location

Hybrid, based in New York City, New York, USA (2 to 3 days per week on-site in the Financial District).
