Job summary

Blue Canyon Technologies, RTX's small satellite manufacturer, is hiring for a Sr. Components Product Manager in Boulder, CO. You will own the reacti on wheel product line, drive the full lifecycle, and partner with a technical lead to align market needs with business growth objectives.

This on-site role requires leadership across engineering, operations, and finance to improve delivery and profitability, while shaping the product strategy and roadmap for a rapidly growing space systems business.

Qualifications

  • 7-12 years of relevant experience in program management and/or product management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated Space hardware program manager experience.
  • Experience with all phases of the product life cycle (business development, concept formulation, requirements flow-down, manufacturing, integration and test, and post-delivery support).
  • Excellent understanding of systems engineering principles and all elements of the product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and execute without direct authority.
  • Excellent PMO and financial acumen (cost structures, risk and opportunities, return on investment).
  • Experience leading customer proposals/bids.
  • Demonstrated soft skills to work with large/small and domestic/international customers within a rapidly changing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasis on rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • The ability to prepare clearly summarize meeting notes, prepare customer deliverables, and cross-functional PowerPoint presentations up to the executive level.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

  • Contract and Program Management: Manage complex component contracts independently with domestic and international customers.
  • Contract and Program Management: Manage cross-functional activities such as contract negotiations, scope discrepancies, and performance expectations.
  • Contract and Program Management: Serve as primary point of contact for assigned customer contracts.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Monitor and implement action plans for KPI performance such as cost per unit, on-time delivery, first pass yield.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Manage product transitions, obsolescence, and end of life planning.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Maintain the product line vision and roadmap with the technical lead and align with financial/technical objectives.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and finance to improve delivery metrics.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Evaluate existing and emerging technologies with the product lead.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Manage product line risks and opportunities.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Forecast and own product line budgets including any IRAD efforts.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Support pricing strategies with sales, finance, and leadership.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Own the business case and drive go/no-go decisions for new initiatives and market positioning.
  • Product Line Ownership and Business Support: Represent the product line in executive leadership meetings.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Interface: Cultivate leadership level customer relationships and drive strategic account planning with BCT leadership.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Interface: Support customer communications and advocate within the organization.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Interface: Collaborate with sales on customer engagement activities.
