Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Walkersville, MD, is seeking a Senior Product Manager for QC Microbiology Future Technologies.

You will own strategy and lifecycle for rapid microbiology and digital QC solutions, collaborating with R&D, software teams, QA/RA, and commercial partners. The role requires a strong product background in life sciences or software, Agile experience, and the ability to translate customer needs into clear requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Significant experience in product management, product marketing, software product management, or portfolio management within life sciences or regulated software environments.
• Strong understanding of microbiological quality control, rapid microbiological methods, laboratory informatics, or digital quality management solutions.
• Experience with Agile or hybrid development environments and backlog prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, lifecycle management, and commercial success of Lonza's Rapid Microbiology and Digital QC Solutions portfolio.
• Bridge between customers, commercial teams, software development, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
• Own end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through launch, commercialization, maintenance, and end-of-life.
• Develop and execute multi-year roadmaps aligned with customer needs, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
• Define product value propositions, positioning, pricing strategies, and business cases to support growth.
• Translate requirements into product specs, user stories, and prioritized development plans for software teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, Software Development, QA/RA, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales to ensure successful development and execution.
• Gather market feedback and translate insights into product improvements and opportunities.
• Lead backlog prioritization, release planning, and cross-functional decision-making in Agile environments.
• Support commercial teams with training, positioning, and customer engagements.
• Monitor portfolio performance and adjust strategy to drive growth.
