Job summary

Planet in San Francisco is seeking a mission-driven Senior Product Manager for the Solutions Enablement group. You will bridge Planet's platform capabilities with customer outcomes, focusing on scalable, reusable building blocks and measurable value for verticals like Defense & Intelligence, Civil Government and Commercial.

You will lead discovery, work with Engineering and Data Science, and help package capabilities into clear narratives for buyers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management experience, ideally in Earth Observation or geospatial analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience launching 'solution' products (bundles of data, analytics, and services).
• Ability to translate complex vertical needs into clear engineering tasks and user outcomes.
• Understanding of vertical market dynamics and market sizing/viability.
• Managing end-to-end product lifecycles and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer discovery and feasibility studies to validate high-value use cases across CivGov, Commercial, and D&I.
• Partner with Engineering and Data Science to decompose complex requirements into detailed specs and backlog items.
• Act as the primary Engineering liaison for the pod, managing sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Define and deliver reusable building blocks within the Planet Platform to scale solutions for multiple customers.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing and Sales to package capabilities into clear business narratives with ROI.
• Build relationships with external partners and government agencies to identify collaboration opportunities.
