Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Payments Gateway to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will own the strategy and roadmap for a global payments gateway, with a focus on improving transaction performance, expanding platform capabilities, and enabling secure money movement at scale. You will work closely with engineering, risk, compliance, and commercial stakeholders to shape APIs, hosted payment experiences, and integrations that support a modern B2B payments platform. The position also includes evaluating payment processors and acquirers, balancing architectural trade-offs, and applying AI to enhance platform intelligence and operational efficiency.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $180,000 – $200,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own the gateway strategy and roadmap, balancing short-term improvements with long-term investments
• Drive payment performance by optimizing core KPIs such as success rates and processing costs
• Define APIs, SDKs, and hosted payment pages to enable rapid deployment of new payment experiences
• Lead the evaluation and integration of processors and acquirers, ensuring compliance with network rules
• Manage the entire transaction lifecycle, partnering with risk and compliance teams to ensure safe money movement
• Lead engineering teams to execute on product requirements and measure success effectively
• Use AI to enhance platform value through optimization and anomaly detection

Qualifications

• 6+ years in payments or fintech product management, with 3+ years owning a payment gateway or similar platform
• Experience building or significantly scaling a payment gateway in production
• Deep understanding of the transaction lifecycle, including authorization, tokenization, and chargebacks
• Proven track record of improving payment performance metrics like authorization rates and processing costs
• Global payments expertise, including multi-currency processing and compliance with regulations like PCI DSS and PSD2
• Experience leading engineering teams, prioritizing tasks, and managing architectural trade-offs
• Hands-on experience with AI applications in payment workflows
