Job summary

Palmetto is seeking a technical data PM on the Platform Product team to build a new data products line and an AI-first platform. You will lead a cross‑functional team, own strategic initiatives, and partner with stakeholders to unlock new customers and use cases in clean energy.

The role requires fluency with data, enterprise APIs, and experience scaling AI-driven platforms, with a strong bias for action and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of product management experience with AI, data platforms, or ML teams.
• Experience implementing agentic AI systems and evaluating nondeterministic products.
• Experience building full-stack products and using AI prototyping tools to learn faster.
• Strong debate mindset; foster debate and focus on impactful outcomes.
• Data fluency—quantitative rigor and logic; regular use of SQL and other tools to inform decisions and measure success.
• Strong writing and communication skills—write clear, persuasive PRDs, vision docs, and detailed execution plans; influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience scaling and optimizing performance in data systems and designing scalable platforms.
• Growth mindset with a bias toward action, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Iterate and scale 0‑1 platform products, data schema, and architecture.
• Create intuitive tools to allow users to explore and interpret energy data and to enable effective HITL workflows.
• Be highly detail‑oriented while synthesizing fragmented consumer energy data and local context into insights that bring clarity to the team.
• Define what great looks like for your teams, measure it, and continuously raise the quality bar for models, workflows, and data.
• Develop a deep understanding of what customers, businesses, and tech teams need, and act as their advocate. Learn the residential energy market and industry ecosystem.
• Proactively communicate so external customers and stakeholders have clear expectations.
• Efficiently manage the team with a bias for action, implementing processes to deliver quality at speed.
• Lead prioritization and planning efforts, crafting OKRs, roadmaps, and determining team scope.
