Your impact

Handshake is expanding into AI research and development, building a world-class network of expert Fellows - PhDs, researchers, and subject matter specialists - who contribute to cutting-edge AI through specialized research, model evaluation, and domain-specific applications. We're looking for a Product Manager to develop our product strategy for managing and engaging with this expert network, ensuring Fellows have the requisite tools to be successful in their roles.

This role is a unique opportunity to build brand-new products within a broader organization, shaping a new initiative at Handshake while collaborating with design, operations, and partnerships teams to create a seamless and rewarding Fellow experience.

This will be at our San Francisco location and this team is traditionally in the office five days a week.

Your role

  • You’ll ensure that your squad has a cohesive and differentiated product strategy.
  • You’ll represent your squad and product area to executives, and translate company-wide strategies to your squad and into your roadmap.
  • You’ll inspire your team on the product vision.
  • You’ll hold your squads accountable to clear goals that ensure they are tracking effectively towards their strategy.
  • You’ll lead your team and stakeholders in prioritizing and collaborating on the roadmap while ensuring we have appropriate alignment with appropriate stakeholders.
  • You’ll work closely with other key leaders in the Era team (i.e. design, marketing, engineering, data, GTM) as well as leaders in other lines of businesses as needed to ensure cohesive strategy and execution.

Your Experience

  • You thrive in a high-velocity environment and can execute quickly while maintaining high standards, adapting seamlessly as priorities shift and new challenges emerge.
  • You demonstrate ownership-mentality and maintain a high degree of accountability for your work.
  • You understand the needs of your customer better than anyone else and prioritize them everywhere, grounding your approach in data and research.
  • You think holistically across the different needs of AI labs and are able to build a product that meets these needs.
  • Strong systems and analytical thinker. Can connect the dots, spot challenges and edge cases, integrate multiple considerations.
  • Experience launching and managing strong workflow platforms in a constrained timeframe.
  • Expert at using data for tactical and strategic decisioning, goal setting, and iterating quickly.

Bonus areas of expertise

  • PM experience leading the development and launch of net new, “zero to one” products

Compensation Range

  • $200-$250K

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
