Your impact

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of mobile engineers focused on delivering exceptional experiences across Handshake’s mobile apps. This team is responsible for a wide range of areas—from mobile product development to platform operations, including app releases, accessibility audits, and foundational systems like our mobile design library and CI/CD pipelines. This is a high-impact role with direct influence on the quality, performance, and reliability of our mobile experiences used by millions of students and employers.

Your role

  • Lead a team of 5-7 engineers
  • Deep experience on Android and / or iOS
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Collaborate across functions with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure a seamless cross-platform experience for our customers.
  • Implement streamlined processes to facilitate team scalability and productivity, while maintaining agility to adapt to our dynamic environment.
  • Set the vision and lead initiatives to improve the development workflow of code, build, test and deploy to increase engineering velocity
  • Be a hands-on technical leader and participate in designing and implementing new systems and tools
  • Effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company's values

Your Experience

  • You bring 7+ years of experience working in the Mobile product and/or platform domain
  • You have 2+ years of management experience
  • Knowledge and experience of working on CI/CD pipelines
  • Have experience in leading product definition, managing trade-offs, and driving customer adoption.
  • You are passionate about technical quality, efficiency and operational excellence.
  • You have some experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring engineers
  • Preferably have experience in mobile app development and/or leading mobile teams.
  • You are focused on success and the delivery of timely, high-quality software
  • You have solid experience working in an agile development environment
  • You have strong written and verbal technical communication skills

Compensation Range

  • $205,000 - $250,000/year
