Job summary

Alpaca is building the next generation of global brokerage and clearing infrastructure. We are seeking a senior product manager to own the clearing systems lifecycle at a rapidly scaling self-clearing broker‑dealer.

Your mission is to design and operate systems ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely processing across core brokerage, custody, ledger, and multi‑currency infrastructures, enabling expansion to new asset classes and partner institutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Product Management, technical program management, or engineering on brokerage, clearing, or post-trade infrastructure.
• 10+ years in brokerage, clearing, custody, prime brokerage, trading infrastructure, or capital markets tech.
• Depth on at least one clearing surface: settlement, books and records, corporate actions, margin, DTCC processing.
• Highly technical with ability to translate complex domain requirements into scalable designs.
• Comfort shipping in a regulated broker-dealer environment alongside Compliance, Legal and Operations.
• Strong operating judgment weighing risk, efficiency, capital allocation, feasibility and time.
• Experience leading senior teams and influencing across functions in a high-growth setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and buildout of Alpaca’s core clearing infrastructure across brokerage, custody, ledger, asset movement, and global market expansion.
• Define long-term architecture for the clearing platform across accounts, positions, balances, ledgers, journals, settlements, and regulatory records.
• Design multi-currency cash and position systems supporting global equities, FX, fractional trading, options, and fixed income.
• Prototype and build new clearing services in collaboration with engineering, not relying solely on third-party workstreams.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, treasury, compliance, legal, risk, and product to ensure scalability and regulator readiness.
• Translate complex clearing and regulatory requirements into clear product and engineering specs.
• Support Alpaca’s evolution from U.S.-centric to a global, multi-asset, multi-currency clearing platform.
