Job description

CRIO (Clinical Research IO) is a health tech company helping pharma, biotech, research sites, and academic research centers streamline regulatory workflows with one system and a single source of clinical data capture. Our modules allow sites to capture data electronically in real-time, providing data managers and monitors with enhanced transparency, and enabling remote monitoring by sponsors and CROs.

CRIO’s eSource and CTMS system is a leading, modern, enterprise platform built for clinical research sites. Since CRIO’s launch in 2016, CRIO has established the leading brand position in eSource and has won close to 50% of the emerging class of enterprise‑grade site networks, many of whom are backed by institutional investors such as VC, PE and corporations. CRIO has achieved the attached metrics, all with little to no serious outbound sales or marketing.

Position Summary

Every clinical trial runs on source data, and for most of the industry's history that data lived on paper, got transcribed later, and quietly generated errors and delays along the way. CRIO's eSource platform captures protocol‑driven data directly at the point of patient interaction, catches mistakes before they happen, and gives sponsors and CROs real‑time visibility into their sites. The results: 40% higher enrollment, 40% fewer protocol deviations, and 40% faster study startup.

eSource is the core of what we do and the product the rest of our platform is built around. You'll own it.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about and excels at product management with proven leadership in driving strategic product initiatives.

The ideal candidate is energetic, self‑motivated, hands‑on, data‑driven, and passionate about achieving strong outcomes for our customers. You will have a strong track record of defining products that delight users and generate exceptional returns on investments, with demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and mentor other product managers. In addition, the ideal candidate has extensive experience working with customers, business leaders, and development teams within an Agile scrum process, and can effectively bridge the gap between business vision and technical execution at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy and Vision: Partner with leadership to define and communicate product vision and strategy. Drive alignment across multiple teams and ensure product initiatives support broader business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead product planning and execution by coordinating dependencies across multiple scrum teams, ensuring cohesive delivery of complex, interconnected features.
  • Scrum Framework Excellence: Develop, adapt, and facilitate the scrum framework throughout the product lifecycle, managing multiple backlogs and leading release plans for high-impact initiatives.
  • Strategic Product Collaboration: Mentor and guide other product managers and scrum masters to develop comprehensive product development strategies. Foster best practices and consistency across the product organization.
  • Advanced Backlog Management: Prioritize and manage complex backlogs spanning multiple teams, ensuring meaningful, realistic, and attainable work that aligns with strategic priorities and maximizes business value.
  • Enterprise Project Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and document development activities for large-scale, high-visibility, cross-team projects with significant organizational impact, adapting to varying scopes and competing priorities.
  • Executive Communication: Facilitate clear communication of product strategy, sprint progress, releases, issues, and relevant information to executive leadership and key stakeholders. Present product roadmaps and business cases to senior leadership.
  • Value Optimization: Evaluate activities across multiple teams for maximum business value and make strategic decisions during sprint planning and release planning that balance short-term delivery with long-term product health.
  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strategic relationships with steering committees, executive sponsors, enterprise customers, functional managers, and cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Team Empowerment and Mentorship: Empower and mentor scrum teams and junior product managers with clear goals and context, driving sustainable maximum velocity and addressing concerns proactively. Build product management capability across the organization.
  • Agile Development Mastery: Collaborate with development teams to commit backlog items to sprints, lead post-live retrospectives to identify improvement areas, and drive continuous improvement in delivery processes.
  • Product Value Advocacy: Champion the value of product releases at both the team and organizational level, ensuring stakeholder alignment on objectives, scope, and deliverables. Translate technical capabilities into business value for diverse audiences.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage product analytics, customer feedback, and market research to inform product decisions and measure success. Establish and track key product metrics and KPIs.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate product risks, technical debt, and dependencies across teams. Make informed trade-off decisions that balance innovation, technical excellence, and business needs.
Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in Software Product Management, with demonstrated progression in scope and complexity
  • 2+ years leading complex, multi-team product initiatives or mentoring other product managers
  • Strong balance of technical depth and business acumen, with ability to make strategic architectural and business decisions
  • Deep experience with Jira, GitHub, and product management tools
  • Expert-level experience with agile development methodologies
  • Proven ability to decompose complex, ambiguous problems into relevant and detailed business/functional requirements across multiple systems
  • Strong ability to separate technology requirements and constraints from core business value and articulate trade-offs to stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities, capable of engaging and aligning diverse audiences from engineers to C-suite executives
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining strategic relationships across all levels within an organization, internally and externally
  • Experience defining and tracking product success metrics and using data to drive product decisions
