Senior Product Manager - API (Healthcare/SaaS/EHR)

Director of Product Management

Remote U.S. (designated states)

This position is fully remote and may be performed from one of the following U.S. states: AL, AZ, FL, GA, IN, KS, MA, MI, MS, NC, NV, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our platform team to oversee the development and growth of our API products. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive product strategy, design, and execution, ensuring our API and platform offerings meet the evolving needs of Therapy, partners, and developers. You will also play a pivotal role in expanding our API marketplace to enhance integrations with third-party applications, solutions, and services, ultimately creating a seamless healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the roadmap for healthcare APIs, focusing on scalability, security, and compliance (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, etc.)
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and security teams to build, enhance, and maintain a high-performance API platform that serves internal and external users
  • Drive the product lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, and iteration, ensuring a smooth and timely delivery of new features
  • Gather and analyze user feedback, industry trends, and market demands to continuously improve the product
  • Define and prioritize API, platform capabilities, and integrations based on customer needs and business objectives
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with third-party developers and service providers to grow the API offerings
  • Define the marketplace user experience (UX/UI) and drive design decisions to ensure an intuitive, developer-friendly interface
  • Develop and manage API onboarding processes, documentation, and resources to support marketplace participants
  • Monitor and optimize marketplace performance, usage analytics, and user feedback to refine the offering and user experience
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, legal, and compliance teams to ensure API products meet regulatory requirements and align with go-to-market strategies
  • Engage with customers, partners, and industry experts to understand their needs and ensure that new products provide real value
  • Present product updates and vision to internal stakeholders and leadership, aligning on priorities and goals
  • Support customer-facing teams by providing technical guidance, training, and documentation to assist in product adoption
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for API adoption, usage, and marketplace growth
  • Analyze user engagement and feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new feature development
  • Conduct and participate in market research, user interviews, and competitive analysis to understand healthcare industry trends, customer needs, and pain points. Use insights to define product features, functionality, and positioning.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience). MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on APIs, marketplaces, or SaaS products (preferably in healthcare or a related industry)
  • Proven track record of managing and scaling API products, integrations, and/or API marketplaces
  • Experience with healthcare standards and regulations (HIPAA, FHIR, HL7) is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience working closely with engineering teams and technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with API management tools, integrations, and developer portals
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models and experience working with developers, third-party vendors, and partners
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, plan, and execute cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decision-making
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and explain them to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in product management tools such as Jira, Trello, Confluence, or similar
  • Familiarity with API design and documentation tools (Swagger, Postman, etc.) is a plus.
