Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Product Manager / Product Owner in Chicago to lead the transformation of an enterprise SaaS analytics platform. You will own the customer-facing product experience, guiding discovery to launch and balancing near-term delivery with a scalable long-term UX.

Collaborating with Product, Engineering, UX, and Data teams, you will shape priorities, manage the backlog in Azure DevOps, and drive modernization while maintaining a consistent roadmap and user experience

Qualifications

8+ years in Product Management or Product Ownership for technical, data, platform, or front-end products.
Hands-on with UX/UI and translating designs into development requirements.
Experience with analytics products, dashboards, and data-driven experiences.
Familiarity with AI-powered analytics and emerging data tools.
Understanding of metrics, dimensions, and trust in analytical outputs.
Experience modernizing or consolidating legacy applications.
Strong backlog management in ADO/Jira with detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
Proven track record delivering enterprise SaaS products.
Experience gathering customer feedback and guiding beta programs.

Responsibilities

Establish priorities with Product and Engineering to maintain momentum and Agile rhythm.
Prioritize and groom the product backlog; ensure clarity and scope for engineering.
Use Azure DevOps to track work, priorities, dependencies, and delivery status.
Collaborate with UX/UI to translate concepts into actionable requirements and edge cases.
Break complex initiatives into releases, features, and user stories with estimation.
Coordinate dependencies across teams, escalating blockers when needed.
Align modernization efforts with the product roadmap and legacy considerations.
Define feature scope across early-access, beta, GA, and future releases.
Promote consistent UX patterns over one-off solutions with engineering teams.
Connect feedback, research, strategy, and execution for traceability.
Lead sprint reviews, coordinate UAT, business validation, and go-live decisions.
Engage with early users to validate functionality and identify improvements.
Ensure consistency across related product areas, especially navigation and permissions.
Evaluate AI and emerging tech applications for product discovery and validation.
Advocate AI-enabled tools in discovery, requirements, testing, and validation.
Present direction, priorities, and tradeoffs to leadership and partners.
