Title: Senior Product Manager

Location: Spring, TX

Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holder, or Authorized to Work in the US

Senior Product Manager
Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Product Manager to support the definition, development, and delivery of internal software products and technology solutions. This role will serve as a critical link between internal customers, business stakeholders, and technical development teams, translating business challenges into clearly defined requirements, functional specifications, and actionable development initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings a strong software development background and a practical understanding of how software products are designed, built, deployed, and maintained in a complex technology environment. This individual will work closely with internal customers to understand their day-to-day challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, define solutions, and guide initiatives through execution and delivery.

This is a highly execution-oriented role for a self-directed product professional who can independently manage priorities, navigate competing stakeholder needs, and drive projects forward with minimal oversight. Success requires the ability to balance customer needs with technical feasibility and business value, communicate effectively across teams, and make informed decisions throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Product Definition & Requirements Management
  • Engage directly with internal customers and business stakeholders to understand operational workflows, pain points, and business objectives.
  • Translate customer needs and business problems into clear requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable development tasks.
  • Define problems, evaluate potential solutions, and establish the expected business and user value of proposed initiatives.
  • Break down business requirements into manageable work items, epics, and development priorities.
  • Ensure requirements are sufficiently detailed and understood by technical teams before development begins.
Product Execution & Delivery
  • Own product initiatives from initial discovery and problem definition through solution development, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
  • Partner with software engineering, architecture, business analysis, and other technical teams to ensure solutions meet defined requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, manage dependencies, resolve questions, and proactively address obstacles that could affect delivery.
  • Review existing epics, processes, and development backlogs to improve readiness, prioritization, and execution.
  • Maintain alignment between business expectations, technical implementation, and delivery outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, product functionality, and the overall customer experience.
Internal Customer Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers to develop a deep understanding of their business processes and day-to-day challenges.
  • Conduct discovery sessions and follow-up discussions to uncover underlying problems rather than simply documenting requested features.
  • Validate requirements and proposed solutions with stakeholders throughout the development process.
  • Set appropriate expectations, communicate trade-offs, and confidently manage requests that fall outside established priorities or are not feasible.
  • Balance customer requests against business value, technical constraints, resource availability, and broader organizational priorities.
Technical Collaboration
  • Leverage a strong understanding of software development practices, application architecture, and the software development lifecycle to guide product decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to assess technical feasibility, implementation considerations, dependencies, and potential risks.
  • Understand architectural implications of technology decisions, including cloud infrastructure, deployment approaches, and platform dependencies.
  • Work effectively with technical teams without needing to perform hands‑on coding.
  • Support effective Agile and development processes, including backlog refinement, requirements clarification, prioritization, and delivery planning.
Process Improvement & Independent Leadership
  • Review and refine product requirements, epics, workflows, and processes to improve development readiness and execution.
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks, and opportunities before they affect delivery.
  • Independently manage priorities, communicate progress, and escalation decisions or issues when appropriate.
  • Influence stakeholders and development teams through clear communication, sound judgment, and a focus on measurable outcomes.
  • Take ownership of assigned initiatives and drive them forward without relying on continuous management direction.
Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience in product management, technical product management, product ownership, business analysis, or a similar software delivery role.
  • Strong background in software development environments, including SaaS, B2B, B2C, or enterprise software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements, defining problems, documenting specifications, and translating needs into technical development work.
  • Proven ability to manage product initiatives through the software development lifecycle, from discovery and definition through implementation and deployment.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, application development, system integrations, and deployment considerations.
  • Experience collaborating directly with software engineers, architects, business analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into practical, well‑defined technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication, organization, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage up and across the organization, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Confidence in challenging assumptions, managing competing priorities, and communicating when a requested solution is not appropriate or feasible.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies, business processes, and domains quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering internal‑facing software products or enterprise technology solutions.
  • Experience in cloud‑based environments, including Microsoft Azure, infrastructure‑as‑code concepts such as Terraform, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices, backlog management, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working in organizations with multiple internal customer groups and complex operational workflows.
  • Experience improving product development processes, requirements quality, and development team readiness.
