Job description

Title: Associate Digital Product Manager

Location: LATAM

Duration: 6+ month contract

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

Work Requirements: Citizen of the country of employment or authorized to work in that country.

Associate Digital Product Manager
Engagement Summary

The Associate Digital Product Management Consultant is a temporary resource responsible for delivering defined product management outputs across the digital product lifecycle—from market and customer discovery through design, delivery, launch support, and post-launch analytics.

Working under product leadership, the consultant will manage assigned backlog items, produce development-ready requirements, support cross-functional delivery, and create durable documentation and handoff materials.

The engagement is deliverable-based and does not create an employment relationship with the client. This description is subject to the governing vendor agreement and Statement of Work, which control in the event of any conflict, including work product ownership, confidentiality, fees, and termination.

Scope: Assigned feature set or product module within a roadmap and product strategy established by product leadership. The consultant may recommend priorities and solutions but may not independently commit the client to roadmap changes, customer commitments, production releases, contractual obligations, or use of regulated or sensitive data.

Scope of Services
1. Market & Customer Discovery
  • Support user research initiatives, including customer interviews, surveys, and usability studies, to surface unmet needs and validate platform and workflow assumptions.
  • Apply competitive intelligence and customer persona insights produced by the Instrument Development product team and Marketing to inform platform, gateway, and workflow product decisions.
  • Analyze user behavior data from web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel, FullStory) to identify friction points and optimization opportunities.
  • Gather and synthesize product insights and feature requests surfaced by Sales and Customer Success teams; document patterns and elevate trends to senior product managers.
2. Product Strategy & Roadmap
  • Contribute to feature backlog development and prioritization exercises using established frameworks.
  • Maintain well-groomed backlog items with clear acceptance criteria aligned to broader product and business goals.
  • Assist in preparing roadmap updates and product communications for internal stakeholders.
3. Requirements & Design Collaboration
  • Use AI prototyping tools to independently create interactive prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups suitable for usability testing and stakeholder validation.
  • Define and document epics, features, user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria that are specific, measurable, and development-ready.
  • Contribute sections of product requirements documents (PRDs) under the direction of a Digital Product Manager, including problem statements and supporting research.
  • Participate in design reviews and usability testing sessions; synthesize findings into actionable product decisions.
4. Delivery & Execution
  • Work closely with engineering and QA teams through sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups to support on-time, on-scope delivery.
  • Track and communicate sprint progress, blockers, and release readiness to senior product managers and leadership.
  • Participate in sprint reviews and retrospectives, contributing observations and continuous improvement ideas.
5. Analytics & Performance
  • Define and monitor KPIs for assigned features, including adoption, engagement, task completion rate, and error rate.
  • Produce regular product performance summaries with insights and recommended next actions for review by senior product managers.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate data synthesis and identify patterns across large datasets.
  • Support A/B testing and experimentation initiatives to validate feature decisions with data.
  • Track realized feature outcomes against stated goals and identify gaps between expected and actual value.
6. AI-Assisted Product Development
  • Apply working knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and generative AI capabilities, including their limitations, to make informed product and tooling decisions.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs before use, applying critical review, prompt refinement, and bias awareness.
  • Participate in team AI governance discussions and adhere to responsible AI policies.
  • Apply knowledge of data governance requirements for AI products, including the sensitivity of clinical assessment data under HIPAA and ethical considerations around patient or test-taker data.
  • Participate in evaluations of AI tools and AI-assisted product development practices in partnership with IT.
7. Stakeholder Communication
  • Communicate product updates, decisions, and progress clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to product briefings, release notes, and internal documentation under senior team direction.
  • Support collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Engineering, Finance, IT, and Product Development.
  • Occasionally participate in customer feedback sessions or product demonstrations in a supporting role.
8. Go-to-Market & Internal Enablement
  • Assist in creating product documentation, user guides, and release notes for assigned features.
  • Support development of training materials for Sales, Customer Success, and Customer Support teams.
  • Document and support the rollout of new or updated business processes related to feature launches.
  • Contribute to launch readiness activities, ensuring internal teams have appropriate information and resources.
Engagement Deliverables & Acceptance Criteria
  • Backlog and Requirements: Maintain epics, features, and user stories with clear problem statements, dependencies, testable acceptance criteria, and traceability to approved objectives.
  • Discovery and Design: Deliver research summaries, insight syntheses, workflows, wireframes, and prototypes, with supporting assumptions and decisions documented.
  • Delivery Reporting: Provide regular sprint and release updates covering progress, scope, dependencies, risks, blockers, and release readiness.
  • Performance Reporting: Maintain agreed KPI definitions and produce product performance summaries with recommended actions.
  • Launch Enablement: Produce release notes, internal documentation, training content, and operational process updates before launch approval.
  • Quality Standards: Deliverables must be accurate, complete, current, and stored in client-approved repositories.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Maintain documentation throughout the engagement and complete a final handoff covering status, decisions, open risks, backlog condition, and recommended next steps.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Product Lifecycle Fundamentals: Understanding of discovery, design, development, release, and post-launch measurement.
  • User-Centered Digital Product Thinking: Ability to translate user feedback and research into product decisions; familiarity with web, SaaS, or mobile environments, UX/UI principles, and digital experience best practices.
  • AI Prototyping: Ability to independently use AI tools to create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
  • Web Analytics & Data Familiarity: Proficiency with platforms such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel to measure engagement, conversion, and digital performance.
  • AI Literacy & Judgment: Working knowledge of AI/LLM tools, their limitations, and appropriate use cases.
  • Agile Execution: Working knowledge of Scrum or Kanban, with experience participating in sprint ceremonies.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Tolerance for Ambiguity: Comfortable working with incomplete information or changing priorities.
  • Data Handling Discipline: Ability to follow client governance, privacy, security, confidentiality, and data-handling requirements.
Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience supporting digital product management, business analysis, product operations, or closely related delivery work.
  • Demonstrated success working remotely with U.S.-based, cross-functional teams.
  • Dependable overlap with Eastern Time business hours.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
