Job summary

Itron is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy, definition, and execution for IEOS Data Platform capabilities, including data governance, data sharing, and platform AI enablement.

You will collaborate across Engineering, Customer Success, Delivery, and Sales to deliver secure, scalable, and valuable solutions for utilities and energy customers. Strong governance, security, and responsible AI practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of product management experience in enterprise software.
• Proven ability to translate customer problems into product requirements and outcomes.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, data architectures, APIs, analytics solutions, and tradeoffs.
• Strong communication skills to influence technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy, definition, and execution for key capabilities of Itron's Intelligent Edge Operating System (IEOS). This role focuses on the IEOS Data Platform, governed data products, data sharing, and platform AI enablement.

The ideal candidate is a customer-centric product leader who excels at identifying real customer challenges, translating them into clear product requirements, and delivering secure, scalable, innovative platform capabilities. This role will play a critical part in advancing how AI is responsibly applied across IEOS data products through strong governance, security, accountability, and responsible AI practices.

As a collaborative and agile partner across Engineering, Customer Success, Delivery, and Sales, you will help shape solutions that are valuable to customers, operationally effective, and commercially successful within the Utilities and Energy industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Define and drive product strategy, vision, and roadmap investments for the IEOS Data Platform, Data Lake and related platform capabilities.
• Develop governed data products and data-sharing offerings that address customer needs and can be consistently deployed, supported, and scaled.
• Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into product opportunities and requirements.
• Define functional and non-functional requirements, including security, reliability, observability, auditability, scalability and compliance considerations.
• Lead product definition and packaging of IEOS data products for customer analytics environments, including platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
• Establish product requirements for applying shared platform AI capabilities to IEOS data and workflows, including responsible AI controls, explainability, auditability, governance and secure access patterns.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to balance customer value, technical feasibility, operational requirement and long-term platform strategy.
• Partner with Customer Success and Delivery teams to improve onboarding experiences, implementation readiness, supportability and adoption of IEOS data-sharing solutions.
• Support customer-facing activities, including technical workshops, discovery sessions, solution presentations, and RFP/RFI responses.
• Advocate for customer outcomes while driving accountable product decisions that align with business objectives and platform evolution.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and cross-functional cllaboration to deliver meaningful value to utility customers.
• Monitor product performance, customer adoption, market trends, and emerging technologies to inform future roadmap priorities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of product management experience within enterprise software environments.
• Proven ability to define products from customer problems and customer outcomes, not solely from feature requests or backlog execution.
• Experience translating customer needs into product requirements, workflows, constraints, and measurable business outcomes.
• Strong experience working with engineering teams on cloud platforms, data architectures, APIs, analytics solutions, and operational tradeoffs.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product strategies and roadmaps that deliver measurable customer and business value.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to influence technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in collaborative, agile environments.
• Commitment to customer-centric product development, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of enterprise security, governance, compliance, and operational requirements for data platforms.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with cloud SaaS platforms, data platforms, analytics ecosystems, or governed data products.
• Experience in the Utilities and Energy industry.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, and modern data-sharing architectures.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data product management, and enterprise data-sharing practices.
