Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Principal Product Manager for Search, Security, and Observability to lead the strategic direction of OpenSearch, CloudWatch, and related security services. This leadership role collaborates with engineering, product, and business teams to shape roadmaps, translate complex customer problems into actionable requirements, and drive rapid delivery across AWS portfolios.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of product management, engineering, or technical leadership experience.
5+ years in cloud services, distributed systems, or enterprise software.
Deep knowledge of core systems in search, observability, or security technology domains.
Proven experience in enterprise-level technology solution delivery.
Strong technical analysis expertise across multiple techniques and methodologies.
Ability to represent and defend architectural decision rationales.

Responsibilities

Shape 3-5 year strategic vision and technical roadmaps for OpenSearch, CloudWatch, and Security Services.
Review complex service design decisions across distributed systems and security architectures.
Drive technical innovation in search technologies, observability platforms, and security services.
Identify service dependencies and efficiency improvements across the AWS ecosystem.
Own business and product definition for major AWS service products.
Lead technical discussions with enterprise customers and participate in customer advisory boards.
Analyze competitive landscape and identify market opportunities in search, observability, and security.
Translate customer pain points into technical product requirements and solutions.
Represent AWS at industry conferences and technical events.
Drive team execution of strategic initiatives across multiple engineering organizations.
Collaborate with engineering, sales, marketing, and business development teams.
Mentor and develop product management skills in team members.
Take ownership of product reliability issues and drive resolution.
Influence pricing and packaging decisions for external services.
