Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Principal Product Manager to shape the architecture and expansion strategy for our data center metro networks. This highly visible, internal-facing role combines product leadership, technical diligence, and program execution to ensure network investments deliver meaningful business value.

You will own the roadmap for internal network products that enable external services, evaluate expansion proposals, and lead cross-functional teams through delivery.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years in product/program management or network planning.
• 3+ years in metro, data center, optical, or related network infra.
• Ability to translate complex financial and technical data into concise decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy, requirements, and multi-year roadmap for data center metro networks.
• Translate topology, capacity, and diverse siting decisions into repeatable designs.
• Lead cross-functional expansion programs from evaluation through delivery.
• Evaluate network investments using demand, utilization, ROI analysis.
• Establish a framework to prioritize metro network upgrades and expansions.
• Build demand models combining contracts, market signals, and forecasts.
• Assess whether existing products remain right platforms for growth and trade-offs.
• Partner with Product, Network Planning, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Sales to drive decisions.
