Job summary

3M is seeking a Senior Product Engineer for AMTPP within its Product Engineering organization to advance bonding and sealing solutions for automotive applications. The role focuses on improving bonding performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across tape and adhesive systems used in automotive assemblies.

Based in Maplewood, MN, you will lead programs to improve quality, qualify alternative supply sources, and support the development and launch of new and existing products, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of product or process engineering experience.
• Experience with tape materials, adhesives, coating, radiation, or extrusion processes.
• Familiarity with regulated product categories.

Responsibilities

• Lead programs to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Qualify alternative supply sources and expand product offerings.
• Support development and launch of new and existing products such as Structural Bonding Tapes, Weatherstrip Tapes, and Acrylic Foam Tapes.
• Assist with customer complaint resolution and process understanding.

Role

Senior Product Engineer for AMTPP (Automotive Bonding and Sealing) within 3M's Product Engineering organization, focusing on advancing bonding and sealing products for automotive applications.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include leading programs to enhance quality, reduce costs, qualify alternative supply sources, and expand product offerings; managing key Change Management Projects; supporting development and launch of new and existing products such as Structural Bonding Tapes, Weatherstrip Tapes, and Acrylic Foam Tapes; and assisting with customer complaint resolution and process understanding.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of product or process engineering experience in private, public, government, or military sectors;
• Experience in tape materials, adhesives, coating, radiation, or extrusion processes, and familiarity with regulated product categories.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degrees in Materials, Polymer, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering, along with 5+ years of relevant experience, especially with pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and acrylic chemistry.
