Job summary

Wahl Clipper Corporation in Illinois seeks a Senior Product Engineer to lead new product development from concept to launch for clippers, trimmers and grooming solutions. You will translate customer needs into robust, manufacturable designs and drive cross-functional collaboration.

This hands-on technical leadership role requires 8+ years in electro-mechanical design, strong CAD skills, DFMEA/FEA experience, and a proven ability to mentor others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of electro-mechanical or mechanical product design experience.
• 4+ years leading engineering projects from concept through production with cross-functional leadership.
• Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development from concept through launch for clippers, trimmers and shavers.
• Translate VOC/user requirements into system and component engineering specifications.
• Drive 3D CAD concept development and guide CAD Designers.
• Apply engineering rigor with DFMEA, FEA, tolerance stack-up, and reliability methods.
• Own and approve key engineering documentation (BOMs, design reports, verification summaries).
• Collaborate with R&D, Electrical Engineering, manufacturing and suppliers for DFM & DFA improvements.
• Define verification strategy and lead prototype and product testing per DVP&R process.
• Lead design reviews and production release meetings; ensure feasibility and production readiness.
• Develop risk mitigation plans for technical, schedule, cost, and compliance aspects.
