Job summary

Jobtailor in Minnesota seeks an experienced engineer to manage design change projects and sustain products across display and electronics lines.

You will build technical product knowledge, lead cross-functional initiatives, and collaborate with manufacturing, regulatory, and suppliers to improve quality, performance, and cost.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution, completed and verified prior to start.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a technical role developing and/or sustaining products.
  • Experience in injection molding, films, lamination, or converting.
  • Experience developing, sustaining, and/or maintaining commercialized products.
  • Experience with change management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Project management experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience collaborating with laboratory, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing functions.
  • Statistical knowledge and practice, including DOE, Manufacturing Sampling Plans, SPC, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Software experience with Excel, MiniTab or similar; SAP, PLM Enovia or similar; Solidworks, AutoCAD or similar.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage design change management projects for existing commercialized display and electronics products.
  • Build technical knowledge of products and assess improvement recommendations.
  • Lead, execute, and support Product & Process Understanding efforts affecting quality, performance, service, and cost.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams across manufacturing, regulatory, application engineering, business, clinical, and other functions.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel and suppliers to address non-conformances, maintain continuity, and improve efficiency.
  • Write Product Standards and set specifications for raw materials, in-process testing, and final product testing.
  • Integrate new products into sustained operations as a member of New Project Introduction teams.
  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and security standards.
  • Contribute to Environmental Health and Safety culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and supporting continuous improvement.
