Job summary

Grass America, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive the design, development, testing, validation, and launch of innovative products and enhancements.

You will manage complex projects, create drawings and BOMs, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing to ensure successful launches and ongoing lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Product Design or related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible engineering, product development, design, and manufacturing experience.
• Experience with international sourcing and functional hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, validation, and launch of new products and product enhancements.
• Manage complex engineering projects ensuring quality, cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
• Develop engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing on launches and lifecycle management.
• Conduct engineering analysis, product testing, validation, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigate performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for product improvements, cost reductions, quality enhancements.
• Support customer requirements and technical inquiries as needed.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project gate reviews.
• Research emerging technologies and materials to support innovation.
• Maintain product records, revision control, and technical databases.
• Prepare technical reports and project updates for management.

Job description

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, ora relatedengineering disciplinerequired.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible engineering, product development, design, and manufacturing experience.
• Experience with international sourcing and functional hardware.

Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese preferred.

• Demonstrated experience leading new product development projects from concept through commercialization.
• Advanced experience with CAD software, engineering analysis, and product lifecycle management systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional project teams and mentoring engineers preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or other relevant engineering credentials preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, product design methodologies, materials, manufacturing processes, and product development practices.
• Strongproficiencywith CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, AutoCAD, or similar design platforms.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), value engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of product testing, validation, regulatory compliance, quality systems, and risk assessment techniques.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to lead technical projects, influence stakeholders, and work effectively across multiple functions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, ERP systems, engineering software, and reporting tools.

Essential Functions:

• Lead the design, development, testing, validation, and launch of new products and product enhancements.
• Manage complex engineering projects and ensure achievement of quality, cost, schedule, and performanceobjectives.
• Develop engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation to support product development and manufacturing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and cross-functional project teams.

• Research emerging technologies, materials, manufacturing methods, and competitive products to support innovation initiatives.
• Maintain product records, engineering changes, revision control documentation, and technical databases.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, recommendations, and project updates for management and stakeholders.
• Support strategic product roadmaps and long-term product development planning activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of product development and organizationalobjectives
