Job summary

First Quality is seeking a Product Development Manager for First Quality Products in McElhattan, PA. You will lead cross-functional teams from Operations to the Marketplace to deliver new and improved absorbent hygiene products.

The ideal candidate has a science/engineering background with 7+ years in medical product development and strong knowledge of stats, DoE, and IP considerations. Travel domestically and internationally for trials and supplier meetings is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of medical product development or related industry experience, preferably in absorbent hygiene products.
• Knowledge of hygiene markets, products, competition, consumers, trends, etc.
• Knowledge and use of Probability and Statistical Inference.
• Knowledge and use of Design of Experiments.
• Knowledge of Patents/Trademarks related to absorbent products.
• Ability to lead a diverse cross-functional team to deliver objectives.

Responsibilities

• Leads cross-functional team to plan, develop, and implement product improvements and new product introductions.
• Investigates new technologies and their applicability to absorbent products.
• Works with Purchasing to negotiate price, quality, and service with vendors.
• Works with Marketing to plan and analyze consumer/market research studies.
• Plans and interprets product use tests to benchmark performance.
• Interacts with Patent/Trademark attorney on IP considerations.
• Prepares preliminary product costing for new products.
• Provides market intelligence and tracks patents/trademarks.
