Job summary

The Toro Company in Bloomington, MN HQ is seeking a Product Development Engineer III to lead cross-functional teams in developing innovative products for our Commercial Division. You will collaborate with Designers, Electrical and Software Engineers to translate customer needs into robust designs.

This role requires a PE license or equivalent, an ABET-accredited degree, and 5+ years in powered equipment. You will manage design validation, vendor coordination, and ensure safety and Toro standards

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering license, or.
• ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Agricultural engineering.
• Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical or Agricultural engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Successful completion of EIT requirements is desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the powered equipment industry.
• Ability to plan and execute all technical engineering activities for complete product development.
• Ability to direct activities of engineers, designers, drafters and supports groups, such as Shop and Test personnel.
• Has demonstrated competency in creativity, productivity, and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate development of new product concepts, products, or improvements.
• Perform engineering analysis to predict design behavior using FEA or simulations.
• Develop product design plans including budgets and schedules; execute to plan.
• Consult with cross-functional teams including Marketing, CAD, Manufacturing, Service.
• Work with vendors to finalize designs and ensure they meet requirements.
• Oversee drawing package, bill of materials, and product specifications.
• Develop tests with test engineers to simulate customer requirements and analyze data.
• Support the Quality System and participate in quality initiatives.
