Job description

SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Our client is a well-established Ladies' apparel importer searching for a Product Development Coordinator for immediate hire. Having Walmart experience is a plus. Must have strong fabric knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the development process for knitwear production.
  2. Develop time and action calendars for programs.
  3. Manage placement strategy and follow-up by recommending product placement.
  4. Have a good color sense, and ability to review laptops, strike-offs, and trims.
  5. Evaluate vendor mix and size of vendor base.
  6. Source and negotiate the best price and delivery.
  7. Review final costing files to ensure they meet or exceed the budget.
  8. Maintain daily communication with overseas suppliers on all production details and costing.
  9. Manage product integrity and order specifications compliance.
  10. Approve lab dips and oversee the general flow of the development process.
  11. Plan and execute a strategic sourcing plan to identify strategic partners.
  12. Have knowledge of fabrications and color approvals.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in apparel production and development.
  • Strong costing and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of fabrics and washes.
