Job summary

Amphenol Corporation’s Communications Solutions division seeks a Senior Product Development Engineer in Schaumburg, IL to lead design and development of high-speed IO connectors for AI/ML workloads and data center applications. The role requires 5+ years in high-speed connector development, proficiency with SolidWorks/Creo and ANSYS, and strong signal integrity and thermal management expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in connector or high-speed product development.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation software (ANSYS).
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high speed IO connectors for 112Gb+ signaling.
• Develop connectors optimized for AI/ML workloads with emphasis on SI, mechanical robustness, and thermal efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system-level integration and standards compliance (OSFP, QSFP-DD, PCIe).
• Define and execute rigorous testing protocols for electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance.
• Manage development projects from concept through production, including timelines and deliverables.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable design goals and support design reviews, prototyping, and field validation.
