Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Senior Product Designer to own UX for a product area, focusing on AI and agentic workflows and/or design systems for a major rebrand. You will collaborate with Product and Engineering, work directly with customers, and influence strategy to ship polished, impactful designs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Product Designer at Samsara, you will provide critical design expertise and execution for strategic initiatives, delivering end-to-end experiences that impact customers and support key business objectives. You'll own design for a specific product area — with current focus on AI and agentic workflows and/or design systems supporting a major rebrand. You'll collaborate closely with Product and Engineering, work directly with customers, and be expected to influence strategy and ship well-crafted designs that make operations more efficient, safe, and sustainable.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the UX for a product area or surface, shipping high-impact designs that unlock significant customer and business value
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering on strategy, planning, and execution
• Work directly with customers to understand their needs, validate designs, and inform strategy
• Provide expertise and knowledge transfer to Samsara's internal design team
• Deliver all agreed-upon project deliverables on time and to spec

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of product design experience designing UX/UI for web and mobile applications
• Strong interaction and visual design skills
• Portfolio and/or case studies showcasing design craft and ability to solve user problems with quantified impact — required to be considered
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Figma Make)
• Experience prototyping in real codebases; comfort working in GitHub
• Proven experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills

• Comfortable with 0→1 and early-stage work where the path isn't fully defined
• Self-directed and resourceful — can identify what needs to happen and move it forward without heavy structure
• Refined taste, strong product instincts, and a bias toward solving real customer problems elegantly
• Curious, hands-on, and resilient — able to zoom out strategically and zoom in to deliver polished work

CONTRACT DETAILS

• Duration : 6 months (with conversion potential if based in a country where Samsara has legal entities)
• Hours : 40 hrs/week, no overtime
• Location : Fully remote
• Rate : $90-$110/hr
• Start : ASAP

This is a fully remote contract role. Candidates must be based in a country where Samsara has an established legal entity.
