Job summary

Uplight is seeking a Senior Product Designer to own the end-to-end experience for Residential & Business energy portals, energy insight widgets, and outbound communications. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, utility clients, and end customers.

You will lead research, design systems, and create scalable interfaces while balancing business goals, accessibility, and real-world constraints. Drive cross-functional alignment and continuous improvement across products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software/digital product design.
• Proficiency in the “full stack” of Product Design: Research, UX & Interaction Design, UI/Visual Design & QA, prototyping, and working with component libraries or Design Systems.
• Systemic & Service Design thinking: designing for complex ecosystems and multi-persona journeys (B2B2C).
• Fluency with modern design and research tools: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Lucid, JIRA, Google Workspace; user research platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the full customer journey—from research and discovery to prototyping, visual design, QA and post-launch iteration.
• Drive best-in-class design practices and adapt processes to real-world constraints while maintaining design principles.
• Contribute to and leverage Uplight’s Design System to deliver accessible, scalable experiences.
