Job summary

Ashby is seeking a versatile product designer to join a cross-functional team, collaborating with engineers, product managers and stakeholders to rethink modern software design and to help own a design system. You will contribute across the product lifecycle, from concept through implementation, in a remote-friendly setting.

We value principled thinking, strong visual craft, and the ability to navigate ambiguity with autonomy.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of product design experience in desktop SaaS.
• Ability to think from first principles, not just follow UX processes.
• Ability to break down complex problems by asking questions.
• Strong UX intuition beyond data or user research.
• Curious and resourceful with creative problem solving.
• Proficient in layout, navigation, IA, UI and interaction design.
• Strong visual design craft and attention to detail.
• Experience at an early-stage startup or as a solo designer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consult engineers on layout, typography, and flows.
• Investigate problems by talking to customers, GTM, and data requests.
• Use Figma to create visual artifacts for stakeholder alignment.
• Write specs detailing design proposals for alignment.
• Own larger product features with Jobs-To-Be-Done considerations.
• Incorporate customer feedback and build usability backlogs.
• Refine and expand our design system to be functional and aesthetically strong.
