Job summary

Ashby is seeking a Design Engineer who blends design and engineering to shape the UI/UX and the underlying data model. You’ll contribute to the design system, collaborating with Product Engineers to deliver polished interfaces and scalable components.

You’ll influence the UI/UX of a complex product used by thousands weekly, shipping iteratively with customer feedback guiding priorities and design decisions.

Qualifications

• Role blends design and engineering responsibilities, requiring both UI/UX sensibility and coding ability.
• Experience designing and shipping design systems at product scale is valuable.
• Ability to wireframe flows and implement polished UI across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Redesigned mobile web app by interviewing customers, wireframing flows, implementing the design system, and applying it to create a polished UI.
• Built flexible, composable design-system components enabling consistent, extensible setup wizards for other engineers.
• Helped a Product Engineer improve information hierarchy and readability of design for viewing candidates’ assessments.
