Job summary

SEP is a software product design firm in Westfield, IN, seeking a Senior Product Designer to embed in a product team and tackle complex software problems across platforms including data-heavy enterprise tooling, consumer mobile apps, and embedded software.

You will drive human-centered design, coach peers, and shape product direction within an employee-owned consultancy that values curiosity, collaboration, and clear decision-making.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional design experience across web, mobile, desktop, embedded, or IoT.
• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
• Portfolio showing a variety with own contributions.
• Proven experience with Figma.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in Agile/Lean.
• Experience coaching growing designers, engineers, and clients.
• Modern product thinking with metrics-informed decisions.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
• Able to work from the Westfield, IN office.

Responsibilities

• Set design direction on cross-functional client team, iterating toward the vision.
• Resolve inputs when user needs, business goals, and technical realities diverge.
• Work end-to-end on client teams: flows, diagrams, prototyping, pairing with designers, collaborating with engineers.
• Plan, run, and synthesize generative and evaluative research.
• Facilitate continuous discovery with the team.
• Craft artifacts aligning team around user experience: models, flows, IA, design systems, prototypes.
• Design AI into the product: define automation vs human control.
• Collaborate with engineers; understand what code can do.
• Contribute to growth of design at SEP through writing, facilitation, knowledge sharing.
• Occasional travel within Indiana and surrounding states to work on-site.
• Leave your team, client, and SEP better than you found them.
