Job summary

Joby is seeking a Senior Product Designer for the Elevate Edge Applications Team (EEAT) to design tools used by operators who charge, maintain, and operate aircraft. You will partner with PMs and engineers to deliver end-to-end design solutions across near-aircraft surfaces, supporting aerospace diligence.

You will lead research, create wireframes, prototypes, and final specs, and contribute to scalable design systems while focusing on usability and rapid iteration.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Design, HCI, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of product design experience with complex systems or enterprise tools.
• Proficiency in modern design/prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch).
• Ability to simplify complex workflows through thoughtful interaction design.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven track record of shipping projects from concept to launch.

Responsibilities

• Design from research and discovery through wireframes, prototypes, and final specs.
• Translate complex workflows (charging, maintenance, configuration) into simple UX.
• Balance big-picture systems design with pixel-level attention.
• Collaborate with PMs and engineers as a design partner.
• Conduct user research and usability testing with operations and maintenance teams.
• Contribute to and maintain scalable design systems.
• Rapidly prototype and test ideas to validate decisions early.
• Measure usability and adoption to drive continuous improvement.
• Leverage AI to accelerate design and prototyping workflows.
