Job summary

Air is seeking a highly experienced Product Designer to join our embedded design team, working with forward-deployed engineers and end-users on the Air Enterprise Readiness Platform. You will balance speed and usability, translate ambiguous objectives into meaningful experiences, and contribute to rapid prototyping, on-site client engagement, and UX research to ensure user needs are met.

Based in Pittsburgh, this full-time role may require up to 50% travel and involves collaboration across

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in HCD, HCI, Graphic Design, or related field.
3-5+ years designing web-based products, ideally with data components.
Proven experience in agile, embedded development with rapid iteration.
Portfolio with revenue-generating case studies.
Interest in defense tech, data visualization.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Creative problem solving across fidelities.

Responsibilities

Act as embedded UX expert, collaborating with engineers and end-users to translate needs into validated features and experiences.
Execute rapid prototyping cycles, documenting user flows and interactive prototypes for quick testing.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to scope and deliver 0-to-1 initiatives and prototypes.
Present designs and milestones to clients and stakeholders, grounded in UX research.
Contribute to the design system and UI component library.
