Semble is a UK-based company on a mission to enable health professionals to amplify their impact. Its cloud-based clinical system is used by thousands of healthcare professionals to deliver better care through powerful, intuitive and secure software. The team is also actively exploring AI, both in how it works internally and in the products it builds.
The role
This is a Senior Product Designer position within Semble's Clinical team. You would design experiences that support healthcare professionals in making decisions, documenting care and managing complex clinical workflows. You would work closely with Product Managers, Engineers and Clinical Safety specialists, balancing innovation with the responsibility of creating safe, reliable healthcare technology. The role is fully remote in the UK or France.
What you would do
- Lead design work from discovery through delivery, translating user needs, clinical requirements and technical constraints into accessible, intuitive solutions.
- Work alongside Clinical Safety specialists to identify risks, challenge assumptions and design appropriate safeguards without adding unnecessary complexity.
- Break down complex problems into manageable increments, balancing delivery speed with user needs, clinical safety and long-term product quality.
- Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate research, exploration, prototyping and iteration, and identify opportunities for AI and automation to improve clinical workflows.
- Move between Figma, functional prototypes and AI-assisted development tools to bring ideas to life, test assumptions and validate solutions early.
- Bring Product, Engineering and Clinical Safety teams together to explore opportunities, navigate different perspectives and reach well-informed decisions.
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals through interviews, field visits and usability testing, turning insights into meaningful product improvements.
What they are looking for
- Proven experience designing clinical systems or similarly high-risk software, including working alongside safety, risk or regulatory specialists.
- Strong UX, interaction and visual design skills, with a portfolio showing complex workflows, accessible interfaces and shipped product experiences.
- Ability to explore ambitious solutions while understanding risk, recognising trade-offs and knowing when a simpler approach is more appropriate.
- A track record of using AI-assisted tools to improve your design workflow, with concrete examples from research, exploration, prototyping or delivery.
- Experience conducting user research, navigating ambiguity and using evidence to make informed design decisions with measurable outcomes.
- Ability to bring people together, constructively challenge assumptions and help teams move towards shared decisions.
- Comfort leading work independently, taking responsibility for outcomes and continuously evolving your approach based on feedback.
- Nice to have: experience designing EHRs, EMRs, clinical decision-support systems or AI-powered healthcare products; experience designing AI-powered workflows or intelligent decision-support; first‑hand experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.

The role can be fully remote in the UK or France, with some flexibility to work across Europe. There is also a Central London office (near Monument) available for those who wish to use it.
