Job summary

fal - Features & Labels is seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead end-to-end design across web and true mobile experiences, from problem framing to QA. You will own flows, UI states, handoff, and iteration, while collaborating closely with Engineering and PM to ship fast and maintain high quality.

You will help build and maintain the design system, prototype rapidly with Figma and AI tools, and conduct lightweight user research.

Qualifications

Strong product UI and visual craft with a portfolio of shipped work.
Experience designing both web and mobile product experiences; dedicated mobile screens and patterns.
Solid design systems experience with components, tokens, variants, and docs and collaboration with engineering.
Comfort owning features end-to-end in a high-velocity startup.
AI-assisted prototyping mindset using modern tools for rapid direction validation.
Ability to conduct scrappy user research/testing and iterate from feedback.
Accessibility awareness and responsive fundamentals, including true mobile experiences.
Strong cross-functional communication with PM/Eng and post-launch iteration.

Responsibilities

Job description

Senior Product Designer role focused on end-to-end design across web and true mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end product design for features, including problem framing, flows, UI states and edge cases, plus handoff, QA, and iteration
Design across web + true mobile experiences with dedicated mobile screens and mobile patterns (not just responsive web)
Help build and maintain the design system (components, tokens, patterns, docs) and drive adoption with engineering
Prototype quickly using Figma and AI/vibe-coding tools when useful to validate direction
Partner closely with Eng and PM to ship quickly while keeping quality high and improving post-launch based on feedback
Run lightweight user research/testing through scrappy usability checks, customer calls, and quick validation cycles
Provide “extra output” when needed, such as Google Slides decks and light graphic/brand assets

Requirements

Strong product UI and visual craft with a portfolio of shipped work
Experience designing both web and mobile product experiences; able to create dedicated mobile screens (not just responsive web) and understand mobile UI patterns, navigation paradigms, constraints, and edge cases
Solid design systems experience, including components, tokens, variants, and docs, plus experience working with engineering for adoption
Comfort owning features end-to-end (flows, UI, handoff, QA, iteration) in a high-velocity startup
AI-assisted prototyping mindset, with a modern tool approach for rapid prototyping (production code not required; code-based prototyping is a plus)
Ability to conduct scrappy user research/testing and iterate from customer feedback
Accessibility awareness and responsive fundamentals, while also designing true mobile experiences
Strong cross-functional communication and ability to define success metrics with PM/Eng and iterate post-launch

Nice to Have

Familiarity with generative media / LLMs / image (or video) models and UX patterns around prompts, parameters, evaluation, and latency/quality tradeoffs
Front-end literacy (React/TypeScript/CSS) and/or Storybook-style component workflows
Willingness to support lightweight GTM/design needs sometimes, including pitch decks (Google Slides) and basic graphic design (simple visuals, social cards, light marketing assets)
Experience or interest in graphic/brand design (not a brand lead role, but helpful taste and skill)
