Job summary

Underdog is seeking a Design System Product Designer to define, own, and scale the design system that powers the customer experience. You will set the vision and roadmap while partnering with engineering to ensure adoption and high-quality implementation.

You will lead the creation of components, tokens, and accessibility standards, and develop workflows that improve collaboration between designers and developers. A strong portfolio demonstrating scalable design patterns is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in product design.
• Deep expertise in Figma, including component libraries, tokens, variants, and systematic file organization.
• Commitment to AI-driven UI/UX evolution.
• Ability to adopt and experiment with AI tools in the design workflow.
• Strong communication and documentation skills to articulate system rationale.
• Experience in fast-paced environments with high craft expectations.

• Defining and owning the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the design system
• Partnering closely with engineering to ensure system adoption, alignment, and implementation quality
• Developing workflows that improve designer-developer collaboration, including Figma libraries, documentation, and quality checks
• Shaping internal best practices for design documentation, guidelines, and cross-team collaboration
• Constantly raising the bar for design craft and execution across the organization

Required experience and skills:

• 4+ years of experience in product design
• Deep expertise in Figma, including component libraries, tokens, variants, and systematic file organization
• A commitment to constantly learning and adapting to the rapid changes AI brings to user interface and user experience design
• A proclivity for adopting and intelligently experimenting with AI tools in the design workflow
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate system rationale and implementation guidance
• Experience operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and high expectations for craft
• A portfolio that demonstrates how the candidate has shaped scalable design patterns, systematized complex UI challenges, and delivered cohesive experiences

• Competitive base salary: Up to $280,000 + Equity is awarded on top of base salary.
