Job summary

GameStop is seeking an AI-forward Senior Product Designer to shape interfaces and experiences used by millions of customers across our online store and internal tools.

You will own design execution for high-visibility workstreams, translating customer needs and business goals into simple, delightful web and mobile interfaces, with AI-powered exploration, usability testing, and design systems to ensure consistency across surfaces.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UI design experience for B2C products.
• Strong background in retail or e-commerce design.
• Proficient with modern design and prototyping tools.
• Experience shaping, building, and applying design systems.
• Mastery of Figma and familiarity with other modern design and prototyping tools.
• Hands-on experience running customer interviews and surveys, and turning findings into design decisions.
• Portfolio evidence of using AI to build highly detailed, interactive prototypes that solve real customer problems.

We're looking for an AI forward, Senior Product Designer to help shape the interfaces and experiences that millions of customers use to shop, browse, and engage with GameStop's online ecommerce experiences, and internal tools.

You'll own design execution across high-visibility workstreams, translating customer needs and business goals into interfaces that are simple, consistent, and delightful to use. You're customer-obsessed by instinct — you go looking for the "why" behind a design problem through direct customer interviews, surveys, and usability research, and you turn what you hear into clear design decisions.

You're mega comfortable putting AI to work in your process — using it to speed up exploration, synthesize research findings, generate variations, and free up more time for the craft and judgment only a designer can bring.

This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.

Key Responsibilities

Design Execution & Craft

• As a senior voice on the team, you'll help raise the bar on design quality while contributing to the broader product design strategy and roadmap.
• Produce rapid prototypes — including working code prototypes built with AI tools — to test concepts and de-risk decisions before they reach engineering
• Shape, build on, and apply our design systems to keep experiences consistent across surfaces
• Design engaging, intuitive interfaces for web and mobile that solve customer problems with elegant simplicity

Customer Research & Insights

• Plan and conduct customer interviews and surveys to uncover pain points, motivations, and unmet needs
• Turn qualitative and quantitative research findings into insights that inform design direction and priorities
• Partner with research and analytics partners to validate designs through usability testing and iterate based on findings
• Bring the voice of the customer into every stage of the design process, from ideation through launch

AI-Enabled Design

• Use AI to move faster on research synthesis, ideation, and design exploration
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with product managers, engineers, brand designers, and other stakeholders to deliver on brand goals, business goals, and technical feasibility
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the design team, providing guidance and socializing best practices
• Drive a sense of urgency using lean and agile techniques to rapidly deliver work
• Communicate design rationale clearly and build alignment across cross-functional teams

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in UI design for B2C consumer products, with a current portfolio showcasing depth and breadth of individual contribution
• Strong background in retail or e-commerce design
• Strong expertise designing modern, delightful applications for web and mobile
• Experience shaping, building, and applying design systems
• Mastery of Figma and familiarity with other modern design and prototyping tools
• Hands-on experience running customer interviews and surveys, and turning findings into design decisions
• Portfolio evidence of using AI to build highly detailed, interactive prototypes — with real or simulated data — that solve real customer problems, not just illustrate a concept
• Uses AI to diverge into a wide range of solution directions, then applies design systems rigor to converge that exploration into consistent, production-ready patterns
• Has automated meaningful parts of their own workflow with AI to multiply output — and can speak concretely to what, how, and the impact
• Comfortable working directly in code repositories — familiar with git fundamentals (branches, commits, PRs/MRs) and confident opening pull requests for engineering review
• Proactive collaborator and communicator within large, cross-functional teams, with rigorous attention to detail and a proven track record of driving toward clarity in ambiguous, resource-constrained environments — comfortable pivoting quickly as priorities shift

Preferred

• Experience running structured research programs (interview panels, longitudinal surveys, diary studies)
• Experience contributing prototype code to production repositories, beyond throwaway concepts
• Experience mentoring or providing design direction to other designers
