Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join the Spectacles team, driving design, prototyping, and analysis from concept to mass production.

You will collaborate with industrial design, operations, and cross-functional engineering to push the boundaries of AR hardware. Responsibilities include failure analysis, production-ready documentation, and leading subsystem design reviews, with international travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 15%.
• MS in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with consumer electronics and overseas manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and analyze new products from concept to mass production.
• Collaborate with industrial design, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support development builds onsite at external component suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Create detailed design models and documentation for production.
• Develop experiments to select designs, materials, and technologies.
• Supervise the mechanical designs of components and assemblies and lead technical design reviews.
• Lead the cross functional design effort of subsystems.
• Travel internationally up to 20%.
